This seminar aims to illuminate the complexities of investing in Hong Kong, especially for the Chinese companies from the Mainland venturing into this unique market. A professional company secretary and a practicing lawyer will explore various practical and critical issues that highlight the legal and regulatory landscape of Hong Kong.
Key topics include the fundamental differences in legal mechanisms between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, and the cognitive traps that arise under the "One Country, Two Systems" framework. Participants will learn about the responsibilities of directors, the nuances of fund flows, and the risks associated with shell and paper companies.
The seminar will tackle practical challenges faced when opening and maintaining bank accounts due to anti-money laundry measures, emphasising the importance of a professional team to navigate these waters.
