Description

As Hong Kong prepares for the implementation of the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Computer Systems) Ordinance on 1 January 2026, this seminar aims to equip governance professionals with essential insights into the new legislative landscape. The event will feature expert speakers from the fields of law and cybersecurity, providing a comprehensive overview of the implications of this new law for organisations.

The seminar will begin with a seasoned lawyer who will present an overview of the Ordinance, detailing its core obligations and enforcement mechanisms. Participants will gain valuable insights into the governance structures necessary for compliance, including risk assessment protocols and incident reporting requirements. A comparative analysis with global counterparts will highlight best practices, while discussions on governance and policy implications will guide companies in enhancing their cyber resilience. A practical implementation roadmap, complete with an action checklist, will also be covered.

Following this, a cybersecurity professional will address the evolving cyber threat landscape and its impact on Chief Information Officers (CIOs). Through real-world case studies, participants will learn about critical computer system identification and acquire practical insights into supporting CIOs in fulfilling the requirements under the Ordinance and Code of Practice. Key takeaways will emphasise proactive strategies for incident response and organisational readiness.
