This seminar aims at introducing key trends in managing litigious family disputes and explore potential strategies for preventing sensitive family matters, including High Court appointments.

Expert speakers from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and Charles Russell Speechlys LLP will share insights on preventing family discord through proactive measures. They will illustrate how accountants and lawyers can collaborate effectively, referencing case studies where accounting professionals have taken on High Court appointments and worked closely with legal teams to navigate complex family matters. Additionally, they will emphasize the significance of succession planning in maintaining family harmony and outline strategies for fostering a peaceful path forward.

A panel discussion will follow, providing an overview of notable sensitive family case patterns and issues. This segment will draw from case studies and highlight common drivers of family tension that lead to litigious disputes, whether resolved in the High Court or through alternative methods such as mediation and arbitration.
