Description

The recent successes of Hong Kong athletes in the international sports arena have provided a sense of national pride. Yet several high-profile incidents have highlighted the need for Hong Kong to enhance its sports governance.

The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) has recently published a comprehensive review along with a Code of Governance (Code) in November 2024 for the compliance by National Sports Associations (NSAs), aiming to improve corporate governance and operational transparency with endorsement by the HKSAR Government.

The Code specifically states that each NSA must have the support of the company secretary, who also serves as the governance adviser. This provides opportunities for HKCGI Members to claim leadership in the area as well as to elevate the general reputation of governance professionals. Therefore, please attend this seminar to learn about the opportunities in sports governance and to gain insights from specialists in the field, including the governance professionals who helped draft the Code.
