Speaker(s)
Mr Alexander Doyle, Counsel, Head of Regulatory & Risk Advisory (Asia), ConyersDescription
Offshore corporate structures, particularly those involving the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands (BVI), and Bermuda, have been widely adopted by Hong Kong listed and private companies for over 30 years, primarily due to tax and risk considerations. In recent years, however, these jurisdictions have implemented economic substance requirements and beneficial ownership regimes to enhance transparency and compliance.
This seminar aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current economic substance requirements applicable in the Cayman Islands, BVI, and Bermuda. Participants will learn about critical filing deadlines, how to effectively respond to enforcement actions, and practical tips for maintaining compliance in these evolving regulatory landscapes.
Additionally, the seminar will offer updates on the beneficial ownership regimes in each jurisdiction, ensuring that participants are well-informed of their obligations and best practices.
