This seminar aims to equip first-time directors of listed companies with the essential knowledge and understanding of their legal obligations and the induction process they will undergo.

Before assuming their roles, the first-time directors must declare their commitment to comply with relevant ordinances and regulations, necessitating a thorough comprehension of these legal frameworks. The seminar will address the critical question: How can a lawyer effectively guide first-time directors through the complexities of applicable laws in a limited timeframe? Participants will gain insights into the key ordinances and regulations (including Corporate Governance Code and Listing Rule requirements for Chapters 13, 14 and 14A), that govern the duties of directors, ensuring they are well-prepared to fulfill their roles.

Additionally, a company secretary from a listed company will outline the core components of the director induction programme. This discussion will cover not only the operational aspects of the company but also the essential skills and knowledge required for directors to perform their duties effectively.
