Description
The Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information (AEOI) is a global initiative designed to combat tax evasion and enhance transparency across jurisdictions. As part of this framework, the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) was established to guide financial institutions in gathering and reporting account information. In recent years, tax authorities globally, including those in Hong Kong, have intensified their efforts to identify potential reportable financial institutions and meticulously review the data they provide.
We are delighted to have PwC professionals who will revisit key aspects of CRS, including:
- the background and implementation in Hong Kong;
- the regulatory requirement;
- the latest activities taken by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD);
- the implications for non-traditional financial institutions, such as trusts and group investment companies; and
- practical guidance on CRS due diligence and reporting.
