Description

In today's complex financial landscape, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) compliance are not merely regulatory obligations, and are also essential components of a robust governance framework. As organisations face increasing scrutiny from regulators to the public, the implications of non-compliance can be severe, including reputational damage, financial penalties, and operational setbacks. This seminar aims to equip organisations, in particular, Trust and Company Service Providers (TCSPs), and governance professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the evolving AML/CTF landscape effectively.

Part 1: Latest Updates on AML/CTF Guidelines and New Money Laundering Trends
This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the CR’s updated guidelines on AML/CTF for TCSPs, effective from 3 March 2025. Participants will examine recent fraud cases and money laundering schemes specifically impacting the TCSP sector. Insights into the latest regulatory requirements and trends will empower TCSPs to develop proactive strategies for AML/CTF compliance and effective risk mitigation.

Part 2: Practical Guidance on Implementing Effective Internal AML/CTF Policies, Procedures, and Controls (APPC)
This session will highlight common pitfalls organizations encounter in their AML/CTF frameworks and share industry best practices for establishing robust internal APPC. The focus will be on customer due diligence (CDD) and ongoing monitoring. Participants will learn how to develop strategies for effective AML/CTF risk management, helping them avoid potential breaches and enhance their compliance posture.

Part 3: Effective Independent Audits and Streamlining AML/CTF Compliance through Technology
This session will delve into effective independent audits to meet the latest requirements of the CR within its updated AML/CTF guidelines for TCSPs, and explore how RegTech solutions can enhance AML/CTF compliance. Participants will discover how integrating technology into their AML/CTF strategies can strengthen compliance, drive operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and safeguard their organizations from emerging money laundering threats.
