Description

In recent years, there has been a global trend highlighting the critical importance of corporate culture as a fundamental aspect of organisational governance. Notably, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) updated the Corporate Governance Code in 2022, emphasising the necessity for corporate culture to align with a company’s purpose, values, and strategy. This regulatory development reflects a growing recognition that a strong corporate culture is essential for achieving long-term success and sustainability.

This seminar will define corporate culture and examine its significance in fostering an environment that aligns with governance principles. It will also address the latest global regulatory developments impacting corporate culture, focusing on their implications for organisations and governance professionals in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Productivity Council will share their insights, starting with an introduction to their organisation and emphasising the importance of culture in governance. They will discuss the common challenges faced in establishing corporate culture and detail their journey, including the roles of the Audit Committee and their Ethics & Anti-Corruption Programme.

A panel discussion will follow to explore practical experiences with culture transformation, role of leadership in shaping culture, and effective strategies for engaging employees to foster buy-in and participation.
