ESG Reporting Refresher Course (Climate-related Disclosure Update) (7 Pre-recorded Sessions)

The ESG Reporting Refresher Course (Climate-related Disclosure Update) (Refresher Course) aims to update the new climate-related disclosure requirements, including the HKEX Listing Rules requirements (published in April 2024 for adoption in January 2025), and to refresh the ESG reporting requirements, knowledge and skillsets via ESG experts from regulators, market practitioners and listed companies.

Topics Covered
The Refresher Course will cover the latest disclosure requirements, reporting frameworks and skillsets as well as frequently asked questions for climate change and other ESG areas from 3 different perspectives:

• Regulatory Refresher and Update (by HKEX and HKCGI)
• Technical Refresher and Update (by 3 market practitioners)
• Practical Sharing and Update (by 3 listed companies)

Target Participants
Those who had completed the ESG Reporting Certification Course (First Cohort) in June 2023.

Assessment
Passing the Refresher Course means registrants have to fulfil the following:

• Attendance: 100% attendance (Registrants must watch every session in its entirety and answer multiple-choice questions after each of the 7 sessions with unlimited attempts between April and May 2025)
• Assessment: Pass the final assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions (in June 2025)
  
  

Government Funding
This programme is one of the Eligible Programmes under the Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme (Scheme) (https://greentalent.org.hk/). The Scheme provides training subsidies to Hong Kong residents who are market practitioners and prospective practitioners of green and sustainable finance, namely students and graduates in relevant disciplines.

*The Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme only accepts reimbursement applications in relation to an Eligible Programme with an enrolment date that is on or after the effective date of such Programme. 

After completing the Refresher Course, members and non-members of HKCGI can apply for a subsidy being 80% of the enrolment fees of $1,400 and $1,750 respectively. Full-time student applicants can apply for a subsidy being 100% of the enrolment fee of $1,750. The reimbursement application should be submitted via the application portal of the Scheme (https://www.greentalent.org.hk/auth/login) within 3 months from 1 July 2025, being the date of completion of the Refresher Course.
