Description
The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) recognises the Institute's significant efforts in advancing best practices for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). These efforts are supported by the HKCGI AML/CFT Organizations, detailed below, and Institute members who hold key positions as senior management within trust and company service providers (TCSPs). These recognitions are underscored in the 'Hong Kong Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risk Assessment Reports' for 2018 and 2022, submitted to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the global standard-setting body.
In 2024, the Institute launched its AML/CFT Certification program, attracting over 300 participants, designed to provide comprehensive training in AML/CFT practices and specialised knowledge tailored to the TCSP sector. This initiative reflects the Institute's commitment to fostering applied governance and talent development to meet industry demands. Also, this annual conference serves as a vital platform for fulfilling the Institute's mission to advocate for strong governance in the AML/CFT area. It provides a forum to deliberate on current and emerging issues concerning AML/CFT practices.
