Description

On 19 April 2024, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) published its much anticipated Conclusions on the new climate disclosure requirements.

Effective January 2025, some important changes have been made to the ESG reporting framework which are relevant to company secretaries and governance professionals, including:

  • All HKEX listed companies must disclose Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions (currently subject to ‘Comply or explain’);
  • LargeCaps issuers are required to disclose Scope 3 emissions on a ‘Comply or explain’ basis and this will be upgraded to Mandatory in 2026; and
  • All other Main Board companies are required to disclose Scope 3 emissions on a ‘Comply or explain’ basis.

Now, an exciting and valuable opportunity is brought to you by HKCGI:  The Climate-related Disclosure Update seminar, at which regulators from HKEX and senior leaders in sustainability will explain and discuss the latest changes to the ESG Reporting Guide (to be renamed ESG Reporting Code).

At the same seminar, HKCGI will launch its Sustainability Governance Academy which will bring together, and serve as a platform for, HKCGI Sustainability Professionals and industry leaders to share sustainability governance-related topics and best practices.

Physical attendance is required for the Physical Session to meet CPD requirement. If you wish to join online, please click HERE for the Online Session.

Cocktail reception (6.30 pm – 7.15 pm)
