Hong Kong – The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) (Institute) has pioneered the first-of-its-kind anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) training under the ‘HKCGI AML/CFT Certification Course’ by allowing its members and other interested candidates to acquire not only general AML/CFT knowledge but also specialised trust and company services provider (TCSP) sectoral knowledge. HKCGI congratulates the first cohort of 274 accredited graduates designated ‘HKCGI Cert: AML/CFT’ under HKCGI's searchable website for employer recognition.
Mr Edmond Chiu FCG HKFCG(PE), Council Member and Chairman of Professional Services Panel, The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute; Head of Corporate and Fund Services, Vistra, said that "the idea to develop the HKCGI accreditation course came about because as senior management of a leading TCSP, talent for AML/CFT specialist in the sector is in short supply in comparison to generalist. Further, HKCGI has always promoted TCSP best practices, including AML/CFT aspects essential for Hong Kong's reputation as an international financial centre."
