Description

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC) has published a consultation paper HERE outlining a proposed regulatory framework for sustainability assurance in Hong Kong ("Framework"). This proposal represents a significant milestone in the HKSAR Government’s Roadmap on Sustainability Disclosures, which was released in December 2024.

The proposed Framework is a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing trust and transparency in sustainability reporting. It seeks to promote high-quality assurance by adopting international standards, thereby enhancing the credibility and reliability of sustainability disclosures and ensuring a level playing field for all assurance providers.

During this seminar, representatives from the AFRC will present the key proposals of the Framework. Following this presentation, an interactive panel discussion will explore the implications for listed companies, investors, and both accounting and non-accounting professionals.
