Description

Every winter, tens of thousands of migratory birds travel along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. On their 13,000‑kilometre journey, they stop at wetlands to rest and refuel. Mai Po Nature Reserve is one of the most important of these wetlands, welcoming about 60,000 birds each winter.

This guided tour is jointly organised with WWF-Hong Kong, offers members, graduates, and students a special opportunity to witness the spectacular migration and explore Mai Po’s diverse habitats. With professional guides, you will walk through gei wai shrimp ponds, mangroves, reedbeds, mudflats, floating boardwalks, and bird hide, discovering how these areas support wildlife and protect threatened species.

March is the peak season for bird migration and wintering. You may even see large flocks soaring overhead, a truly unforgettable sight.

This is more than a nature outing. It’s a chance to see conservation in action, appreciate Hong Kong’s wetlands, and enjoy a meaningful day surrounded by biodiversity.
