Description
Each year, thousands of tons of food are sent to Hong Kong’s landfills, while many people still struggle with food insecurity. As part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing food waste, the Institute is pleased to collaborate with Feeding Hong Kong (樂餉社) for a community event 'Rescue Food, Share Hope – Volunteer Experience at Feeding Hong Kong' 惜食傳愛行動:樂餉社義工體驗, supporting their mission to keep edible food out of landfills and into the hands of those who need it most.
During this event, volunteers will help sort, check and pack surplus food at the Feeding Hong Kong’s warehouse, they will also learn about the Hong Kong’s food waste challenges, community needs and food banking solutions in our city.
By participating, volunteers will gain hands-on experience in a warehouse, helping turn surplus food into valuable resources and making a difference in our community.
Volunteers will receive an electronic certificate of attendance as a token of appreciation for their time and effort.
Join us in promoting food appreciation and supporting the well-being of our community in Hong Kong.
