Description

The Institute is excited to invite student ambassadors and SAP mentors to visit Mil Mill, the first pulp mill and education center that recycle beverage cartons in Hong Kong.

As the first facility of its kind in the city, Mil Mill plays a crucial role in Hong Kong's efforts to promote sustainability and responsible waste management.

Participants will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility, learning about the processes used to transform used paper wastes into new materials. After the guided tour, participants will join a paper diffuser stone workshop using the recycled materials.

Transportation:

1.       Shuttle bus arranged by the Institute:

  • 2.05pm, depart from Exit C, Fanling MTR Station (粉嶺港鐵站) to Mil Mill
  • 4.30pm, depart  from Mil Mill to Exit C, Fanling MTR Station (粉嶺港鐵站)

(The shuttle bus will depart on time. Please arrive the meeting point 5-10 minutes prior the departure time)

2.       Arrange your own transportation:

  • Please arrive Mil Mill before 2.30pm.
  • Please visit Mil Mill’s website for reference and notify the Institute in advance.

**Mil Mill does not provide any parking facilities for visitors. **

Rundown (for reference only):
1.45pm – 2.05pm Registration
2.05pm Shuttle bus departs from Fanling Station to Mil Mill (The shuttle bus will depart on time. Please arrive the meeting point 5-10 minutes prior the departure time)
2.30pm – 4.30pm Guided tour and workshop at Mil Mill (2 hours)
4.30pm Shuttle bus departs from Mil Mill
5.00pm disperses at Fanling MTR Station
Notice:
  • Photos will be taken during the event. They might be published at the Institute’s platforms including website, monthly journal (CGj), as well as the Institute’s media channels such as Facebook.
  • If you are not available to attend, please inform us as soon as possible.
  • Participants who are not taking shuttle bus arranged by HKCGI may make arrange your own transportation.
  • Participants are recommended to wear long pants and bring insect repellent. Please avoid wearing sandals.
