It has been almost 1.5 years since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Although we are glad to witness the circumstance is more stablised, corporation should be aware of any potential liability that may arise from this matter. For example, would a corporation be liable if any employee or customer being infected in its premises, during its business operation or by contacting with its products? Apart from the basic steps in preventing transmission of COVID-19, are there any new technologies in the market that are available and capable to fight against the virus and bacteria? How a corporation can enhance occupational safety for their employees?
This webinar will discuss the liability under the existing legislations and walk through the history of pandemic. Speaker will also introduce the basic principles and features of the latest technologies in fighting virus, as well as explore the advantage and disadvantage of those technologies.
Speaker’s biography
Dr Daron Leung has over 40 years of experience in safety and risk management in various settings namely contractor, insurer, law enforcement, client and consultant. He received occupational health and hygiene professional training in the 80’s. In recent years, he has involved in greater health discipline which entails him to have better exposure in this area of expertise. Dr Leung is a renowned speaker in occupational safety and health (OSH). He also gives lectures in OSH in HKU, PolyU, Construction Industry Council and seminars organised by Occupational Safety and Health Council and Labour Department of HKSAR Government.
