Job Description
Job Purpose:
The core purpose of this role is to provide leadership for the Governance Support functions in Corporate Service. S/he works closely with the Head of Corporate Service (HCS) to lead development and execution of Governance Support initiatives to support Chief Executive Officer/Secretary General (CEO/SG) in ensuring good governance of the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) in order to steer corporate strategic direction to fulfill its vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
-Formulate, lead and direct strategies and plans in Governance Support to ensure compliance with HKRC corporate governance procedure and in alignment with Agency strategic plan
-Lead the Governance Support team in formulating and developing respective functions, policies and guidelines; systems and workflows to ensure continuous improvements for service quality and efficiency
-Execute and manage the governance management cycle, prepare materials for new members orientation and facilitate communications, arrange award nominations and engagement activities; to uphold the best practice in governance to ensure compliance with corporate governance rules and procedures
-To assist CEO/SG and HCS to prepare the meeting agenda and documents with governance
-To lead and organize the Annual Meeting; organize and co-ordinate Agency major initiatives and meetings; attend related meetings, compilation of reports and minutes taking
-Assist HCS in preparation of agency-wide information to relevant stakeholders; compile messages for announcement, notices, updates in relation to Agency-level initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
-University Degree Holder, preferably in Business, Management or Corporate Governance Disciplines
-Minimum 5 years post-graduation and relevant work experience, with at least 2 years at managerial level and proven experience in serving board meetings
-Member of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (formerly Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries) is preferred
-Good understanding and recognition of Hong Kong Red Cross’s mission and core values
-Sound programme coordination, presentation and event management skills
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills
-Previous knowledge and experience in working with Council and Committees in NGO environment is an advantage
-Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English
