We are looking for a seasoned professional in human resources (‘HR’) to join the senior team of the Office in support of the HR development and service needs in alignment with the University’s human capital strategies and goals. The appointee will play a key role in the development, implementation and review of HR related policies and processes in areas related to talent acquisition and management, employee benefits, staff learning and development, staff engagement and relations, disciplinary matters as well as compliance with employment legislations and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and the Mainland. The appointee will also work as a business partner to University’s stakeholders in providing a full spectrum of high quality and value-added HR services including internal HR consulting to the University community.

This is a challenging role but offers an excellent opportunity for a proven HR professional with a passion in people management to be engaged in both ongoing and new HR initiatives to meet the University’s emerging HR needs for continuous organization development.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have a good bachelor’s degree, preferably a higher degree, with substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience in HR management with demonstrated people management skills. We expect the appointee shares the academic and education missions of the University, be strategic-minded, forward thinking, and possesses a high level of interpersonal and communication finesse with the ability to both lead and coordinate with teams. Solid project management capability and strong conceptual and analytical abilities in developing solutions for implementation are essential. Proficiency in verbal and written communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) are mandatory. Work experience/exposure in a higher education environment and in Mainland HR management is a plus. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and highly competitive. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
