Description

Company secretaries are playing an increasingly pivotal role in corporate governance, no matter in public companies, private companies or non-governmental organisations in Hong Kong. Their role has evolved from overseeing the compliance and administrative functions of a company to taking on the additional tasks of a governance advisor to the management in their deliberative process. This level of responsibility calls for a thorough knowledge of the business of an organisation and of the rules and regulations governing its activities as well as a solid foundation in various areas of company secretarial practice.

To support students, graduates and members working in the company secretarial field and would-be entrants in their professional development, the Institute is pleased to offer a Foundation Training Series in Company Secretarial Practice (from February to October 2022). This Series, to be delivered by Ms YT Soon FCG HKFCG(PE) as the main speaker in 6 online sessions, will provide an introduction to the compliance issues in 6 specified areas of Hong Kong private limited companies. 

In Session 6 - Significant Controllers Register of Hong Kong Private Limited Companies, the following elements will be covered:

• Significant Controllers Register (“SCR”) under the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance
• Basic requirements of keeping SCR
• Who are significant controllers
• Contents of SCR
• Updating of SCR

Interested parties are invited to join any or all of the 6 sessions, the coverage, date and time of which shall be confirmed when enrolment commences.
