Arbitration has emerged and has been promoted as an alternative to Court litigation in resolving disputes.  But is arbitration suitable to resolve all disputes?  What are the advantages and disadvantages of arbitration?  What should one take note when deciding to resolve dispute by arbitration? 

In this webinar, we will review the arbitration regime critically from multiple angles and provide a realistic and practical view on arbitration. Join us if you would like to gain a better understanding of the arbitration process, to grasp the key elements of an arbitration agreement, and to learn some tips and best practices about this alternative dispute resolution method.

Speakers’ biography:

Dantes Leung
Mr Leung is a Partner at Oldham, Li & Nie.  He specialises in commercial litigation, international arbitration and contentious regulatory matters.  Mr Leung has extensive experience in advising and representing multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals in a wide range of cross-border disputes including arbitrations.  He also has substantial experience in dealing with various regulators.  Mr Leung is qualified to practice in Hong Kong and England & Wales.  He is a part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong and has served as a Member of HKU Court.

Davis Hui
Mr Hui is a trainee solicitor at Oldham, Li & Nie. He is currently seated in the Dispute Resolution Department, and is involved in commercial litigation including winding-up companies and shareholders’ disputes.  He graduated from the University of Hong Kong with first-class honours in both Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Literary Studies) before obtaining the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the same university.
