Description
Traditional shibori (日式扎染技術) is a traditional tie-dyeing technique to create beautiful pattern. Have you ever considered that creating your own shibori design is also a way of protecting the environment? Join this half-day workshop at the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) Green Hub to gain knowledge on natural dyeing and experience sustainable dyeing with turmeric.
In this workshop, you will learn the traditional shibori techniques to make your own furoshiki (Japanese fabric wrap 日式包袱布) with natural colours. A skill instructor will also teach you how to make the most vibrant and long-lasting design for your masterpiece.
At the end of the workshop, the docent from the KFBG Green Hub will lead a guided tour to explore the historical significance, colonial architecture and ecological importance of this declared monument - Old Tai Po Police Station.
